MIXED FORTUNES FOR TERENGGANU TEAMS

In tonight's Malaysian Super League programme, there were a 'first' for both Terengganu teams but the fortunes were opposite of one another. T-Team, after a winless start to their maiden MSL campaign finally registered their first win with a labouring 1-0 win over Perlis at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu. But it was a different result in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan after the home team came from a goal down to beat the previously unbeaten Terengganu 2-1.

Heaven opened up in Kuala Terengganu moments before kick-off. The torrential rain lasted around twenty minutes but actions on the pitch did not make it worthwhile for fans who were soaking wet in the stands. Neither team displayed any creativity to open each other's defence.

However, it was the home team that Lady Luck had smiled upon when two minutes after the break, Haris Safwan Kamal's shot took a huge deflection off a Perlis player's boot and looped over goalkeeper Farizal Marlias's head into the net. The match settled into a patern and both teams did not look scoring anymore goals for the rest of the evening.

In Paroi, Joseph Kallang Tie opened the scoring with a goal that was worthy as a goal of the season candidate, a fierce shot from 30 metres that went past the goalkeeper and into the top corner of the goal. Right at the end  of the match with the score was tied at one a piece, Joseph found the net again, unfortunately it was the wrong one. There was no time for the Turtles to stage any sort of a comeback and Irfan Bakti and his boys tasted defeat for the first time this season in the MSL.
