It is a mixed start to the new Malaysia Super League season for Terengganu with just four points on board from three matches. Coach Yunus Alif must be hoping to put things right when league leaders Kedah come avisiting on Sunday. As usual, Sultan Ismail Nasirudin Shah Stadium could be an intimidating venue for visiting players even though the level of expentancy from the crowd could prove to be the home side's undoing. The home side would have to perform their best in order to get the crowd behind them.

As reported in the media, Kedah's head coach Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah will most likely adopt a counter-attacking tactics that served the Canaries well during their Malaysia Cup semi-final encounter last season. Thus it is essential for Terengganu players to make the most of the chances that will come their way. Once again the focus will be on the Brazilian imports of Jocian Bento Dos Anjos and Gleisson Freire to combine with the local lads in order to crack the opponents' defence.

Both have not been able to totally win the hearts of most Terengganu fans so far with their performances. Thus a good showing against last season treble winners will go a long way in achieving that. Skipper Marzuki Yusof together with local favourite Fabio Flor must be at their best form in order to contain the threat from nippy Kedah striker Mohd Hasmawi Hassan who scored a hat-trick against previous leaders, the Royal Malaysian Police during the match at the Darul Aman Stadium on Tuesday.

Coach Yunus is expected to do a bit of reshuffling at the back after the dismissal of Mohd Saufi Ibrahim at the City Stadium against Penang on the same day. The match which ended 1-1, Terengganu once again failed to hold on to their lead away from home, letting the home side to come back in the second half after Flor had put them ahead as early as the second minute. The home fans will definitely crave for a repeat of the performance shown during their only home match this season, a 4-0 win over Sarawak, just before the international break.

Even though it is very unlikely the same scoreline will be achieved against Kedah, a win against them is essential for Terengganu in order to reduce the gap at the top, thus making the Turtles a serious Super League title contender this season.

We wish you the best of luck, Terengganu.
